1. The man in the picture was pushed onto the tracks and wasn't strong enough to lift himself.
The photographer was present at that moment and tried after he was unable to help the man to warn the trains operator with his camera flash.
2. Because it was the only way for him helping the man. Also the newspapers published his picture a lot and headlines talked over him.
3. If I would be in his situation I wouldn't even think about taking a picture in that moment. In my opinion taking the pictures would be the last way to safe this mans life.
4. No I don't think he did the best he can, there are a lot of other possible ways to get help or even try to help the man. His first reaction was to take his camera out and shoot some pictures, that doesn't seem really helpful. Even if he was unable to help him he could scream for help or something.
5. In the viewpoint of the newspaper it was a great idea because people were really interested and the newspaper got attention with this interesting picture, but in the position of the man it wasn't the best decision because people didn't believe him that what he did was the best thing he could do to help the man.
6. In the most unmoral way and the job goes first over all a photographer would shoot those pictures , but in a moral way he would have helped him and at the end he would stand there as a hero and newspapers would report about him.
7. I think it is aceptable for private reasons like if you show your family where you traveld around, but especially in the newspaper photography and than mostly in political things its really risky to involve the photographer that much, because most pictures involve secret things or not the most beautiful faces of important persons.
8. No I think the newspapers get more interesting and real if they report about influencing events.
9. It wasn't enough time for him to be able to help the man, so he tried his best by using the flash of his camera.

Fashion Photography
1. longer neck, eye position, shoulders, lips, bigger eyes, cheeks, highlights in face and hair
2. softer and better skin, nose shape, bigger eyes, shoulders, less stomach, longer and skinnier legs, longer neck, highlights on face, body and hair
3. made the whole body skinnier, covers bad skin shapes, bigger head, volume of the hair, longer hair, nose shape, lips, bigger eyes, more body curves,
4. In my opinion it is not ok to change a body or the favs of a model in this extreme ways. People on the streets look at the posters with those beautiful models and read magazines and see the advertisement with those models. It has a reason why they are changing the way how they look we get manipulated by those pictures because we think they are beautiful and we want to look like them and buy the product even more. It's a lie about the product.
5. How I already said especially in advertisement this is not morally. For example the advertisement of a lotion that is supposed to make you look younger or something photoshops the skin of the model it's not showing the truth about the product they sell and are promising us lies.
6. I think it some ways it is ok for a person that keeps her pictures private and doesn't use it for advertisement to change some things at her body that the person maybe doesn't like.
7.Photojournalism is the collecting, editing, and presenting of news images in order to tell a news story.
Fashion is photographing subjects related to fashions and or clothing.
8. Photojournalism presents news about things that really happen in the world with real pictures. Expect for some news papers that tell lies about things that are happening to get more readers.
Fashion is specifically about how people look in pictures and if they are beautiful enough to represent the cloths they are wearing. In those cases of pictures people look at the way the people and fashion looks so they need to manipulate it even more.
9. To show us that not everything we see in the photography buisness is truth.
10. I think in the woman fashion especially woman look at those details how other woman look in the pictures and if they want to like what they see. Mans don't really look at those details and often just care if the product really works and not how the model looks like.

Vanity Fair, October, 100 Years
"For Vanity Fair's October Issue-to honor the magazine's birth 100 years ago, in 1913-sexy was the word as we resurrected a Monroe pose and introduced a new logo (smart, slim, serif!). Not to be outdone by the magazine's stately new font, model Kate Upton channeled screen icon Marilyn Monroe as she pouted and posed with a congratulatory birthday cake for photographer Annie Leibovitz. Happy Birthday, indeed."
The cover shows the model Kate Upton as Marilyin Monroe in honor of the 100 birthday of the magazine. Marilyn Monroe has an special effect to make the cover more glorious and historical. But at the same time the woman expresses something interesting and new. By first looking at the cover she turns the people for example on the streets on to buy the magazine. The neutral and plain background in a dark green color is a big and eye-catching contrast behind the really bright woman with the white cloths and white cake. Also the light is set on the interesting points of the woman like her mouth and decolte.
With the big contrast between the woman and the background and also by how the woman looks like the magazine can manipulate many people to wake their interests and make them buy that magazine.

Portraits and Self Portraits preview - start planning
Play with Eye Contact
It is amazing how much the direction of your subject’s eyes can impact an image. Most portraits have the subject looking down the lens – something that can create a real sense of connection between a subject and those viewing the image. But there are a couple of other things to try:
Looking off camera – have your subject focus their attention on something unseen and outside the field of view of your camera. This can create a feeling of candidness and also create a little intrigue and interest as the viewer of the shot wonders what they are looking at. This intrigue is particularly drawn about when the subject is showing some kind of emotion (ie ‘what’s making them laugh?’ or ‘what is making them look surprised?’). Just be aware that when you have a subject looking out of frame that you can also draw the eye of the viewer of the shot to the edge of the image also – taking them away from the point of interest in your shot – the subject.
Looking within the frame – alternatively you could have your subject looking at something (or someone) within the frame. A child looking at a ball, a woman looking at her new baby, a man looking hungrily at a big plate of pasta…. When you give your subject something to look at that is inside the frame you create a second point of interest and a relationship between it and your primary subject. It also helps create ‘story’ within the image.
Experiment with Lighting
Another element of randomness that you can introduce to your portraits is the way that you light them. There are almost unlimited possibilities when it comes to using light in portraits.
Side-lighting can create mood, backlighting and silhouetting your subject to hide their features can be powerful.
Get Closer
The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close.
Environmental portrait
I really like that picture because in the background we can see what the man does, and what his passion or work is. It also is a really dark picture but its focusing on the man by getting lighter in his area.
In this picture I really like the persecutive of showing the passion of this man. Its an interesting and exiting way.
Photography self portrait
I Chose this picture because the lightning makes it really interesting.
In this picture I like the perspective and colors. Also that her eyes are on focus.
Casual portrait
I like that portrait because of the plain background, which effects the focus on the man.
In this picture the pose is really interesting for me.
For my portrait assignment I am thinking of shooting pictures of my mum because she is an interesting woman with great passion and an interesting face. I will shoot the pictures in the garden of my house where we can see the horses and nature behind my mum. I will wait for good weather because I am planing on an happy and bright picture.
For my self portrait I will try to make pictures of me playing soccer, paining or drawing something. It depends on what I am gonna shoot but I will take some pictures in the Graffiti park at home and in my garden with a lot of light outside and at home I will try to make some dark pictures.

American Soldier
A. For me the most powerful picture is the picture of Fisher checking his stance and the position at the training learning how to salute. This picture is focused on him how he learns to be one of the army mens. It shows him in one of the first weeks concentrating and looking for the theater to do nothing wrong. We can see that he takes it really seriously and how serious it is.
B. The pictures tell us a story about Fisher and his way to the army and at the army. The pictures are all black and white and inmost of the pictures we can see Fisher. The emotions over the time at the army are made really clear and we see how it changes over the time.
C. After reading the captions I could understand the pictures better and what was going on at them. I wasn't really sure at the beginning by just looking at the pictures which emotions Fisher was feeling.
D. Ian Fisher realized at the age of 17 he had the dream of joining the army on day. After graduating High School at the Lakewood’s Bear Creek High School he did exercise and the medical exam to make his dream true. His first step after a big goodbye party was joining 14 weeks basic training. Hs first weeks were hard for him. He got scared that he wasn't good enough and additionally it became a problem that he had a childhood injury. But this was just a phase of the 14 weeks and he got the feeling to be a soldier. They started the group training and got allowed to continue it. The trainers say he is a good kid and came a long way. It is a hard time and he knows that, you have stuff to carry. He completes the first phase and gets a blue cord signifying. He learns to cover himself in the woods and control pain.
After the basic training he changed and we can see the difference in how hard he did sports to exercise to be a soldier. On a weekend home he made a spontaneous proposal to his girlfriend Kayla.
He joins another training in Camp Red Devil 11 months before leaving two Iraq. During this time Fisher did a lot drugs and his father is concernd about that. After that he puts himself in danger of be kicked out and tells the army about his drug problem but the battle commander gave him another chance.
He finally flys to the Iraq and had a good time there. After all this e finally marries his fiancé.
E. Present
1. the captions are usually 3-4 sentences.
2. The first sentence explains whats happening in the photo.
3. The second sentence explains what you can't get from looking at the picture.
4. The third sentence has a quote from the person.
5. yes many photos have quotes.
6. yes there are some with four sentences.
2. The first sentence explains whats happening in the photo.
3. The second sentence explains what you can't get from looking at the picture.
4. The third sentence has a quote from the person.
5. yes many photos have quotes.
6. yes there are some with four sentences.
H. People can misunderstand the meaning of pictures really fast and also if they want to know more its better to write an explanation and background informants about things you can't see on the pictures.
